Members of the U.S. Marine Force Atlantic Color Detail raise the national flag of Luxembourg. The ceremony culminated in the raising of the U.S. and Luxembourg national flags while the Atlantic Fleet Band played their respective national anthems.

Luxembourg, known as The Land of the Haunted Castles, is located in Western Europe along the Moselle River, and bordered by Germany, France and Belgium.

Luxembourg was once a land of warlike feudal knights who were quick to attack their neighbor's land or to defend their own. One third of the land is now covered by forest. Not more than 150 years ago, however, it was complete forest.
Children start school at the age of 6, and go for 8 years. They learn Letzeburgesch, a Germanic language with some French added in the first grade, and then French in the third grade. They also learn English in high school. This country has no universities, so students must go to neighboring countries for further education.
